WHAT TO EXPECT

1 WEEKLY PRIVATE LESSON

1 WEEKLY GROUP LESSON

Creating original songs can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences for musicians. School of Rock’s Songwriting Program teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement and music theory, and helps students compose original works. Students have one weekly private lesson on an instrument of their choice where they learn concepts, technique and theory. These principles are then applied in weekly group lessons where students work together on songwriting exercises and lyrical workshops. Every few months, Songwriting Program students take the stage to perform or band together to record their original songs. Now available online.

TAKE MUSIC LESSONS ONLINE AND IN-SCHOOL

At School of Rock, the health and safety of our students is our top priority. Students can participate in our Songwriting music program through interactive online lessons or in-school, socially distanced classes. Students choosing to take the Songwriting program online are taught using the same famous, patented curriculum we use in our schools—The School of Rock Method™. Instead of in-person lessons and rehearsals, online students will have weekly 1-on-1 online video lessons with their instructor and weekly online rehearsals with their classmates.

THE PATH TO TAKE THE STAGE

Our songwriting program for kids and teens is designed to create musical proficiency through the creation of original pieces of music. Songwriting students have often gone through our Rock 101 program first, or have some previous basic music experience. The program culminates with a live showcase where students perform their original compositions in bands at a local music venue. Students taking the Songwriting Program online will remotely record their original songs to produce a demo of the class's music.
